
OUR STORY
I come from a family of tenacious entrepreneurs.
My grandfather emigrated from Portugal to Brazil in 1953 at the age of 11 with his parents. At 14, he began working as a delivery boy for a butcher shop, where he diligently saved his earnings over the years. Eventually, his hard work paid off, and he could purchase the butcher shop from its owner. This marked the beginning of the Talho Capixaba legacy.
He continued to work tirelessly, hiring friends and family members to help grow the business. Gradually, he shifted the focus from meat products to baked goods. Under his leadership, the bakery flourished and eventually became the largest in Brazil. It was recognized as the number-one bakery in Rio de Janeiro for many consecutive years.
History of Bakery
Founded in 1953 by a Portuguese immigrant, Padaria Talho Capixaba began as a humble butcher shop in Rio de Janeiro. Its founder, starting as a delivery boy, worked tirelessly, saving every penny and taking on extra jobs to eventually purchase the shop. Within a year, it was transformed into a bakery, and over the next two generations, it grew to become one of the largest and most renowned bakeries in Rio de Janeiro. Known for its dedication to quality, Talho Capixaba’s slogan, "The best bread is Capixaba's bread," reflects the passion and craftsmanship that continue to define its legacy.

MEET OUR FARMERS
Inspired by my grandfather's stamina and perseverance, I decided to expand the Talho Capixaba legacy by starting a branch focused on sustainable, organic, and healthy products. Once again, the family came together to purchase the land and support the seed of my idea. The garden has grown and borne fruit. For over a year, our bakery has been offering organic, healthy products made sustainably using permaculture techniques and recycled water and materials. Our goal is to provide the best and tastiest foods while also protecting our planet.
